a. Background
Awka people were historically known for blacksmithing, metalwork, wood carving, sculpturing and other craftsmanship from precolonial era. This is even major part of their identity and ogene music making instrument which is "a bell-shaped metal gong" is majorly being produced by them in Nigeria. 

This is what made Ogene music an easy venture in Awka which new era pioneers "Ausuma Malaika", "Ogene Onyeoma Mgbajala Na Ifite Awka", etc shaping the history of Ogene music in Nigeria. Although, Ogene music originated from Enugu Ukwu Anambra state, Nigeria.

b. Career
Onyeoma Chinedu began his ogene music early 2000s with his first official and popular track "Ndidi Bu Ije Enu" and other albums were later debuted. He now rarely performs live and lives and work in Johannesburg, South Africa.
