Bobo Brazil

As the joke goes, "What does a 6' 6", 300 lb. wrestler do?" Answer: "Anything he wants to!" That sums up the professional career of Bobo Brazil. The black giant from Benton Harbor, Michigan has traveled every path in the wrestling world. He has worn regional title belts from many areas, the North American Heavyweight Championship and the United States Title. The NWA World Championship has slipped his grasp, only because it's hard to find a champion available when Bo is around.

Brazil never had wrestling on his mind as a young boy. His first love was baseball and he played it every chance he got. In fact, he was playing that sport when a wrestling promoter saw him and decided that pro grappling was missing out on something. Bobo was the first baseman from the barnstorming team of The House of David. After his meeting with that promoter, Brazil thought it over and at the end of baseball season he began his training. Bo and the promoter were in no hurry for him to enter the ring wars. They realized that he had the size but if the talent wasn't there, they would have wasted their time.

The Benton Harbor giant played one more season of baseball, and trained for one more winter. Out of the gym that spring came a wrestler who was destined to be known around the world. From that point it would take more space than we have to list all the great wrestlers he has defeated and all the titles he has won.
