Throwback Times present this resounding track by Nel Ust Wyclef Jean, he is born October 17, 1969.

He's a celebrated Haitian rapper and musician. According to Wikipedia, at the age of nine, Jean immigrated to the United States with his family. While he input all his efforts to actualize his dream, he achieved fame as a founding member, co-producer and guitarist of the New Jersey hip hop trio The Fugees, alongside Lauryn Hill and Pras Michel. 

Fast-forward, the group released the albums Blunted on Reality (1994) and The Score (1996), the latter becoming one of the best-selling albums of all time. Jean would follow this with the release of his first solo studio album, Wyclef Jean Presents The Carnival (1997), which contains the top ten hit "Gone till November".

In regards of this track Diallo Diallo, what inspired this track ? In the early hours of February 4, 1999, an unarmed 23-year-old Guinean student named Amadou Diallo , born September 2, 1975, was fired upon with 41 rounds and shot a total of 115 times by four New York City Police Department plainclothes officers: Sean Carroll, Richard Murphy, Edward McMellon, and Kenneth Boss. Carroll later claimed to have mistaken him for a rape suspect from one year earlier.

Consequently, the four officers, who were part of the now-defunct Street Crime Unit, were charged with second-degree murder and acquitted at trial in Albany, New York. A firestorm of controversy erupted after the event, as the circumstances of the shooting prompted outrage both inside and outside of New York City. Issues such as police brutality, racial profiling, and contagious shooting were central to the ensuing controversy.

Above all, this studio project was off the album The Ecleftic: 2 Sides II which was the second studio album released by Haitian hip hop musician Wyclef Jean in 22nd August, 2000, although recorded 1999 -2000.
