Background
There are handful of individuals of Neni Indigenes whose activities projected Neni community to the limelight. Individuals such as Power Mike of Nigeria, John Michael Obi, Somadina Adinma, late Mathias Obianika, Retd Ex Governor Nnaemeka Akonobi, late Chief Anthony Enukeme (Tonimas) and others.

But yet Neni community seems to be lagging behind in politics and governance at top level having only one Charles Ezeani lone in the field. However, in the view of the above, it was reported that Business mogul in the person of late Chief Anthony Enukeme widely known by his business name as `Tonimas Nig LTD', a business group incorporated as a limited liability company in 1982; dealing on Energy Trading, Manufacturing, Haulage, Hospitality and Beverages fought hard to ensure Ejike Okechukwu clench a better position in politics and governance having seen his (Ejike) passion for good governance.

Late Chief Anthony Enukeme Obiagbaoso Akuvom; Onowu Neni; a.k.a Tonimas (1944 - 2020)


Career:
Hon. Ejike Okechukwu born and raised in Neni is an Anambra State born politician who represents his constituents with dedication and passion. He joined politics around 2008 as PDP member but became more popular 2019 after being elected to represent Anaocha II Constituency in the State House of Assembly poll. However, many of his constituents noted that he had made a name for himself as a hard-working and capable leader.

Fast-forward to 2023, after an impressive scorecard, he was reelected as the APGA flag bearer for Anaocha II Constituency in the 2023 State House of Assembly Election. This development came after his achievements was assessed at the town hall meeting he organized at White Castle Hotel, Neni 2023.

Some of his achievements includes facilitation of employment for over 30 persons of the constituency; empowerment of over 20 youths and women through his OgEP2020 Empowerment Programme and attraction of renovation of Community School, Aguluzigbo, Migrant Farms School, Nri, Community High School, Obeledu and Ajani Community Primary School, Ichida, among others. Further achievements includes donation of education materials to schools, facilitation of tertiary education admissions for many constituents, annual Christmas distribution of bags of rice and other items, to his constituents from 2019 till date; building of 3-bedroom bungalows for needy widows, scholarship awards to pupils and students, enrolment of many individuals into the Anambra State Health Insurance Scheme and facilitation of N500,000 federal government COVID-19 grant for 33 beneficiaries from Aguluzigbo, Neni, Nri, Obeledu, Akwaeze and Ichida towns that make up Anaocha 2 Constituency, as well as one person from Agulu.
