According to reports gathered by Throwback Times, tensions are mounting in West Africa as the Republic of Chad has announced a total military lockdown along its borders with Nigeria.
According to reports from N’Djamena, the move follows intelligence warnings that terrorist groups operating in Northern Nigeria are attempting to escape into Chad amid growing fears of a possible U.S. invasion operation in the region.
Military sources confirm that Chadian forces have been placed on full red alert, with heavy deployments of troops, tanks, and armored vehicles across all major entry points linking the two nations.
In a firm statement, President Mahamat Idriss Déby Itno declared that “no armed group or foreign force will be allowed to enter Chadian soil under any disguise.”
The development has heightened regional anxiety, as neighboring countries brace for potential security spillovers from the rising international tension surrounding West Africa.
Recall that current president of the United States, Donald Trump has decried rising Persecution of Christians in Nigeria. Trump made several speech over this regard and has ordered US military to preposition for possible operation in Nigeria.
Opinions from social media users especially the Biafra Eastern Nigeria welcomed the development while Muslim dominated Northern region panic, declares no support. Other opinion noted that US military assets might've already been in Nigeria for investigation prior to Trump's announcement.
