According to reports gathered by Throwback Times Nigeria, the Nigeria’s Chief of Army Staff (CoAS) has issued a bold statement declaring that the Nigerian Armed Forces are fully prepared to defend the nation’s sovereignty against any foreign threat, particularly in response to reports of possible U.S. military action in the country.
Speaking from Abuja, the Army Chief, Lieutenant General Waidi Shaibu reaffirmed the military’s unwavering commitment to protecting Nigeria’s borders and people. “We are fully prepared to defend our national territorial integrity against any external aggression,” he said firmly, sending a clear warning to any nation contemplating military interference.
The announcement comes after recent remarks by U.S. President Donald Trump suggesting potential deployment of US forces to Nigeria to combat insurgent groups especially in the North. The statement has sparked widespread tension and debate across diplomatic and security circles.
Lieutenant General Waidi Shaibu further assured that the Armed Forces remain highly vigilant and combat-ready, with enhanced intelligence, logistics, and strategic coordination across all divisions to defend the nation’s territorial boundaries.
