Fresh anxiety is brewing across Nigeria as images of heavily built U.S. soldiers training intensely surface online, fuelling speculation about a possible foreign military operation in the country which was severally pronounced by the United States president Donald Trump and other US stakeholders.


According to reports, the troops identified as members of the U.S. Department of War were seen engaged in tactical drills, endurance runs, and combat fitness exercises, fueling rumors that they are “getting ready” to confront Fulani terrorist groups terrorizing parts of Northern Nigeria and probably disintegrating Nigeria.

Though U.S. authorities have not issued an official statement, military analysts say the development could signal Washington’s growing involvement in the West African security crisis, following recent threats and border lockdowns in the region.
