Throwback Times has learned that the United States Ambassador to the United Nations, Mike Waltz, has invited American rapper Nicki Minaj to visit the U.S. Embassy in New York after she publicly support President Donald Trump’s recent statement on the "Killing of Christians" in Nigeria.
Waltz, in a post on his official X (formerly Twitter) account, praised Minaj for using her influence to draw attention to the alleged persecution of Christians in Nigeria.
“@NICKIMINAJ, thank you for using your platform to speak out in defense of Christians in Nigeria,” the ambassador wrote. “If you ever find yourself in New York, come by the U.S. Embassy to the United Nations. I’d love to speak with you about what our administration is doing to protect religious freedoms around the world.”
The invitation came after Trump, in a post on his Truth Social platform, declared Nigeria a “country of particular concern”, saying that Christianity faces an “existential threat” in the country. He warned that the U.S. might suspend aid to Nigeria or consider military action if the killings continue.
“If the Nigerian Government continues to allow the killing of Christians, the USA will immediately stop all aid and may go into that disgraced country ‘guns-a-blazing’,” Trump wrote.
In response, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu dismissed the statement as false alleged that Nigeria is ahead of America and her "orchestrated game".
Reacting to Trump’s post, Nicki Minaj expressed gratitude for what she described as a bold stand for freedom of worship.
“We don’t have to share the same beliefs to respect one another,” Minaj wrote on X. “No group should ever be attacked for practicing their faith. Thank you to the President and his team for taking this seriously. God bless every affected Christian.”
