President: Bola Ahmed Tinubu

This was contained in a Statement Released by co-founders, Chris Anyadiuba, Fidelis Chiekezie in Onitsha, Anambra State, Nigeria. The statement reads:

As the realities associated with jerk up in pump price of PMS by Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) set in, the Mgmt of Throwback Times have pleaded with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to consider review of current minimum wage in order to mitigate plight condition of the masses.

It can be recalled that former President Mohammedu Buhari increased the low wages to N30,000 in 18th April 2019 which then had dollar equivalent of $98 or thereabouts but constant depreciation of Naira currently made minimum wage of N30,000 to have dollar equivalent of around $64 making minimum wage earners unable to afford basic things.

Even many can no longer afford the least two square meal daily. We have not talk about transportation, health-care, clothing, among others. However, the disadvantage of removal of fuel subsidy surpassed the advantage. We strongly believe that the new administration is very much cognizance of this fact so we therefore beg President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to fasten the increase of the minimum wage and review of the petrol subsidy among other unfavorable policies of which if ignored would breed anarchy or riot that could crumble Nigeria to pieces.
