The city of Asaba, Delta State capital, is set to host the prestigious Distinguished Nigerian Award (DISNA) ceremony which will award personality figures who have contributed significantly to growth and development of the society.
According statement made a available to Throwback Times, the award ceremony is organized by Oasis Magazine. The event will take place on Thursday, November 9, 2024, at the Opal Event Center, and will commence with a Red Carpet at 11 a.m., and the main event will kickstart at 12 noon.
The statement also revealed that; HRM (AVM) Lucky Ochuko Ararile (Rtd), the revered Ovie of Umiaghwa-Abraka Kingdom, and HRM Obi Ifechukwude Okonjo, the traditional ruler of Ogwashi-Uku Kingdom, will graciously attend the ceremony. HRM Ararile will also be honored as the Royal Father of the Day and decorated as Patron of Oasis Magazine Chapel of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ-Oasis Chapel).
The occasion will be chaired by Prof. Emmanuel Ufuophu-Biri, Rector of Delta State Polytechnic, Otefe-Oghara. Senator Ovie Omo-Agege CFR, the immediate past Deputy Senate President, will attend as the Distinguished Guest of Honour.
