Throwback Times Nigeria has sighted fresh report made by popular activist Nwoba Chika Nwoba. Tension has gripped Awka, Anambra State, following explosive allegations by media personality who claims that more than 15 armed police officers violently invaded his family residence on Thursday evening, leaving several family members allegedly brutalized and his wife forcibly taken to an unknown destination.
According to Nwoba, the operation began at about 7:00 p.m. on July 30, 2026, when the officers allegedly gained entry into the apartment through the ceiling before descending on everyone inside. He said his youngest sister called him around 7:30 p.m. in panic, reporting that the operatives had allegedly tortured those in the house while repeatedly demanding to know his whereabouts.
In an emotional account, Nwoba alleged that his wife was struck with the butt of a gun, kicked in the stomach, and forcibly whisked away by the operatives. He further claimed that she has remained in an undisclosed location since the incident, with her family left in fear over her safety.
The media personality also alleged that, minutes after the raid, he received a phone call from individuals using his wife's mobile phone. According to him, the callers demanded that he surrender himself before his wife would be released, allegedly threatening to kill her if he refused. Nwoba further claimed that his younger siblings were told that the Governor of Ebonyi State wanted him "alive or dead."
As of the time of this report, neither the Nigeria Police Force nor the Ebonyi State Government has issued an official statement responding to the claims. Independent confirmation of the alleged raid, assault, abduction, and threats is still being sought.
