The African Professional Wrestling Commission (APWC), in conjunction with the Nigeria Professional Wrestling Federation (NPWF), has unveiled plans to stage a landmark International Wrestling Championship in Eziaja, Neni, Anambra State, Southern Nigeria.
The proposed championship is expected to attract some of the finest professional wrestling talents from around the world, including top stars from the United States, Egypt, and Nigeria, promising an unforgettable spectacle for wrestling fans across Africa and beyond.

The community is recognized as the hometown and ancestral home of the legendary Late Michael Okpala (Power Mike of Africa), widely celebrated as the founder and pioneer of professional wrestling in Nigeria. The event is intended to rekindling the rich history of the sport in the country.
The Commission described the proposed championship as more than a sporting event, noting that it will serve as a platform to promote tourism, cultural heritage, youth development, and international sporting collaboration. If finalized, the tournament is expected to place Neni and Anambra State firmly on the global professional wrestling map while celebrating the remarkable contributions of Power Mike of Africa to the growth of wrestling in Nigeria and across Africa.
