Chief Dr. (Sir) Godwin Ubaka Okeke

According to reports made available to Throwback Times Nigeria, Chief Dr. (Sir) Godwin Ubaka Okeke revealed that the people of Adazi-Ani pleaded with HRM (Dr.) Chinedu Benson Madubuko, Eze Chinechendo I of Adazi-Ani, for six months before he finally accepted to become the traditional ruler of the community.

Okeke made the revelation during a courtesy visit to HRH on 21st of August before the day of the coronation ceremony of the monarch, describing Madubuko’s emergence as Igwe Adazi-Ani as a development that followed extensive consultations and appeals from the people.

He said the people were determined to have Madubuko take up the revered traditional leadership of Adazi-Ani, leading to the prolonged efforts to convince him to accept the responsibility.

The coronation ceremony which to be held 22nd August 2026 brought together dignitaries, traditional rulers, community leaders, family members and other well-wishers who gathered to witness the formal installation of HRM (Dr.) Chinedu Benson Madubuko as Eze Chinechendo I of Adazi-Ani.

Okeke’s revelation highlighted the significance attached to the monarch’s emergence and the confidence reposed in his leadership by the people of Adazi-Ani. It was also revealed that the monarch had in the past perform various of Humanitarian, Philanthropic and physical development in the community.
