Throwback Times Nigeria has learned that the National President of the Amateur Wrestling Federation, Comptroller-General Adeniyi, has declared that he is on a divine mandate to transform amateur wrestling in Nigeria and beyond.

Speaking on his vision for the development of wrestling, Adeniyi said his administration is committed to repositioning the sport, creating new opportunities for wrestlers, and promoting Nigeria’s wrestling talent on the international stage.

He emphasized that the transformation of wrestling requires purposeful leadership, strategic development, grassroots investment, and a commitment to discovering and nurturing emerging talents.

According to him, his vision goes beyond Nigeria, with the broader objective of strengthening the country’s position in the international wrestling community and contributing to the overall growth of the sport across borders.

Adeniyi called on stakeholders, athletes, promoters, coaches, administrators, and lovers of wrestling to support the collective effort to take the sport to greater heights.

He maintained that with unity, dedication, and the right structures in place, Nigerian wrestling has the potential to achieve significant milestones both nationally and internationally. Also recall that Dr Adeniyi recently announced a drive to set up training camps at United States to foster the achievements of the wrestling Federation's goals and objectives.
