The President of the Nigeria Wrestling Federation (NWF), Comptroller-General Bashir Adewale Adeniyi, has hosted Team Nigeria’s contingent to a lavish dinner in Astana, Kazakhstan, ahead of the 2026 Senior World Wrestling Championships. The president of the wrestling Federation has once again demonstrated one of promises to elevate amateur wrestling in Nigeria.
Throwback Times Nigeria learnt that the event, which brought together members of the Nigerian wrestling contingent, was organised ahead of the commencement of the athletes’ campaign on October 27, 2026.
The dinner provided an opportunity to boost the wrestlers’ morale, strengthen team spirit and encourage the athletes as they prepare to represent Nigeria at the international competition which will greatly birth good performance.
Adeniyi’s gesture explained the importance of team unity and motivation as the Nigerian contingent prepares to compete against some of the world’s best wrestlers. With the dinner over, attention has now shifted to the wrestling arena, where Team Nigeria will begin its campaign, aiming to deliver impressive performances and make the country proud on the global stage.
